Why the hell can't you get it together?!
Again and again
I told you the way
You smiled in your sleep
but I wasn't thinking then
Meet in the middle
or simply stand where you are
You judge so easily
Eager to strike with your hate
I know where you coming from
but I'm not there anymore
No time, no sense
Your lies wear the world thin
Back away and stay quiet now
The fires now are too hot
You were damned from the moment you awoke
But you really never have beenWhythehellcan'tyougettogetherD800Damon D. EdwardsNikonPNWPacific Northwestdamonedwards.com
It had to be you
I came to see you time and again

Time stands between us
Time. There seems to be enough or sometimes there is simply too much. I try to find balance and make the most of either. On our yearly trips down the Oregon coast along Highway 101 we pass by this site of 3 sea stacks named "The Three Graces". Each trip I find myself showing up at the site at various times of day, none of which ever seem ideal for photographing the beauty if these iconic rock structures. Today was no exception. Harsh overhead sunlight. Low tide. I had about 15 minutes to get a few photos before we had to press onwards home and of 20 or so I took- this one speaks to me about what it is beauty is capable of conveying to someone, in any condition.

Strait on the rocks
As the tide of the Strait of Juan de Fuca reaches its lowest point along the Dungeness Spit, an outcropping of rocks becomes visible and slows the waters escape within its grasp.

Stoic
The tower of the 63' New Dungeness Light Station stands proudly in a clear winter sky awaiting nightfall to once again illuminate the way for sailors making their passage through the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

Without direction
The remains of pylons used as an effort to control beach erosion along the 5.5 mile long Dungeness Spit in the early 1900's, sit eroded themselves as the waters of the Strait of Juan de Fuca claim them day by day.

A float with the number '1565' engraved in the side of it, belonging to what was presumably a crab pot, sits among the seemingly endless amounts of driftwood debris along the shores of the Dungeness Spit.

There once was a dream
The berries at the Corpuz Berry Farm fruit stand, once held as a prized commodity, have long been sold out for many years now. Abandoned since the summer of 2010, the fruit stand off the side of Highway 305 on Bainbridge Island was a fixture of the once flourishing berry farm, reminding passers by of better times. Demolished in the fall of 2012, this is the last photograph I was able to take of this small piece of history.

A boy's view
Far too often we forget what life looks like through the eyes of a child. While visiting Seattle, I took my 2 year old son to the Space Needle and he stopped at the jumble of red pipes at Seattle Center and looked up - this was his view.

On the right path
A Western Hemlock leans to the right initially but begins to upright towards the middle and straighter still afterwards. Standing alone in a field near Cape Blanco, OR; this tree tells a tale in and of itself in that it is still standing, yet lends many questions to be answered. What caused it to lean so much? Heavy snow or ice? The persistent winds off of the Pacific Ocean? How old is the tree and why was it left to stand alone in a field obviously void of any other? Unless the local keepers of history come forward to tell the tale of this tree, all I can give is a photo.
Bridge to nowhere
The remains of this battered foot bridge lie at the feet of the Puget Sound near the Point Wilson lighthouse at Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend, WA.

Your loving arms around me
I walked through the meadows
I stood in the lane
there, beneath your shadow
The whispers flowed around you upon the breeze
The lovers amidst me did distract
I walked past, simply not knowing
Yet I turned and there I saw the world
The stirring in my soul
The echoes of my calling
A moment then, to steal away your beauty
You are still mine.BWblack and whiteDamon D. Edwardsdamonedwards.comNikonold growthpowerfulsolitarystoictreeVAVirginiaCraig SpringsCraig County
No one remembers your name
A quiet time. Solitary. Stripped away memories. Old and faded, left for no one. All I have left is before you and no one even remembers why you were here or where you came from. No one remembers your name...
