The Long way to Baton Rouge
The Huey P. Long bridge, or the Old Bridge as everyone in Baton Rouge calls it. The bridge spans over the mighty Mississppi River and it includes a rail line inbetween the east and west bound lanes. The once blue bridge is now orange and stays that way even as the paint flakes off, as the aluminum plant below aids to its appearance.

A sign in the parking lot of the Hansville General Store leaves no doubt for who is supposed to be parking there. The small store, located at the far northern tip of the Kitsap Peninsula in the quaint town of Hansville, is the one-stop solution for the towns residents.

If only you could see
What is it then that gave you pause
Made you look away?
The light. The light.
Dare I not ascend into the light.
I didn’t open the doors.
Back to the darkness, blind.
The walls left numb
Fall upon the drain and let go
Choices.
What more can be, if only to take you in.
All of you.
